What do you do when you see a critical need? Aimee Broadbent’s response would be to start a foundation. She tells her story in this episode. It started on a trip she took to Africa with her husband. She returned with her three older children and a desire to learn more about what she could do to help. Enlisting the help of others, she started a foundation to make long term changes to support families in caring for the many orphaned children in Africa.
She explains that the word shamba means garden in Swahili. The goal of the Shamba Foundation was to provide an infrastructure to make generational changes addressing the poverty of the slums in Nairobi.
The Shamba Foundation was founded to solve the problem of street children in Nairobi. Aimee Broadbent shares her inspiring journey in making a difference in the lives of families in Kenya.
